Petzl - Neox

A new version of the 'industry standard' Grigri assisted-braking belay device, the Neox has been optimised for lead climbing in the gym or at the crag. An integrated wheel allows you to very smoothly and quickly pay out slack to the climber, but the assisted blocking kicks in during a fall for a comfortable catch. An ergonomic handle provides comfortable lowering and descent control. It can be used with single ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm.

Features include:

• Belay technique identical to classic belay systems: both hands on the rope. A fall is stopped by tightening the hand on the free end of the rope.
• Assisted braking: during fall arrest, the belayer holds the free end of the rope, the cam pivots and pinches the rope, increasing the braking action until the rope stops sliding.
• New wheel design allows smoother pay out of rope to a lead climber, making it ideal for hard sports routes.
  
• 3:1 mechanical advantage from the handle and camming mechanism helps reduce the amount of effort needed to smoothly control the rate of descent, regardless of rope diameter.
• Compact, light and durable.
• Stainless steel friction plate and cam to ensure a long service life.
